Our SIA DS Team

Much like the venues with which we work, we are independent, high-quality, and fun.

Individual attention and flexible working hours means that each member of our team feels motivated and supported and because we are a small group of industry professionals, staff get to learn not only from management but from each other.

We strive to foster an environment of trust and cooperation and work closely with each member of our team to ensure they are making decisions confidently

Kieran T - Senior Door Supervisior

Kieran has been with the company from day one, previously working with some of our Senior DS & Managers at Headingley Stadium. Kieran combined working for TH alongside his studies at Leeds Beckett University, where he was completing a Masters in Sports Science.

“It was the first place I’ve worked where I wasn't just ‘the guy on the door’, I knew everyone’s names and they all knew mine - and I feel like we’re all worked together as a team. The venue manager trusted me and asked for my opinion before changing door policies, and where I made suggestions, I feel my input was valued.”

Since succesfully attaining his masters Kieran has gone on to work full time in the academic sector, however opted to stay working for TH as a casual Senior DS.

“Initially I was upset to be leaving my venue and considered giving up DS work altogether, however Paul (bookings manager) has worked with me to ensure that my shifts work around my other commitments. I'm really enjoying the chance to move around a few different venues covering holidays for their Senior DS, as well as doing a few one off live events!”

Reece W - Door Supervisor

Reece joined the company in July 2019 after talking to one of our Senior DS while working alongside him during his full time job who recognised his customer service skills and adaptability. Reece joined the company upon achieving his door supervision license and was initially paired with experienced workers in order to learn the practicalities of working at a venue.

“First joining Tres Hombres was a breath of fresh air for me. The amazing staff here were so welcoming from the very beginning, and have helped me grow from being inexperienced in this work, to becoming a confident door supervisor who truly feels an important part of the TH squad”

Chris Anderson - Director

Chris has a wealth of experience in the security & events industries, spending 7 years with some of the UK's biggest providers.

“Working for the big providers was fantastic, and I'm extremely thankful for the opportunities they gave me in managing and supervising security at huge outdoor events and high profile indoor arenas. However as me and my colleagues grew older and had other work and family comittments, I increasing found the national companies unable or unwilling to work with you to ensure a sensible work/life balance.”

Upon founding TH, Chris took on several of his former colleagues who had also grown disillusioned with working in the private security sector.

“I was speaking to my old team who had all gone elsewhere, and they were all telling me the same thing. Companies advertising big 'headline' rates of pay, then charging them ridiculous fees for 'uniform hire', 'insurance' and 'payroll admin'. Shifts being changed or cancelled last minute with no explanation. Being issued with formal warnings for cancelling shifts well ahead of time, then being asked to justify why they were canceling. I have built this company as the opposite to that, and the results have been fantastic. Unsurprisingly, when you're being treated as an adult, trusted, and treated fairly, you are much more likely to enjoy your job and perform well.”

Join the team

The vast majority of our team are recruited on word-of-mouth recommendations, however if you feel you've got what it takes, we'd love to hear from you.

What we offer

Fair pay. We're not going to lie and say our rates are fantastic, but they are fair. No big headline rates only to discover you've been charged for the air you breathed on shift.

Flexible work. We'll work around your commitments, even other security jobs, so long as you're upfront and honest with us.

Direct interaction with management. No anonymous booking offices in far away cities. Our managers and Senior DS book shifts and understand the job.

Strong teammates. We understand how frustrating it can be to turn up at a job and not have trust in the person stood next to you. All our workers are personally vetted and our standards are high. We only take on work we can cover, and cover well.

What we want

Valid SIA DS or CP license. Well, duh.

Personality. 99% of the job is talking to people, we need people with fluent conversational English, and the desire to use it.

Hobbies & Interests. We're after people who have a life outside of being a DS. If your social media is full of bouncer memes, you're probably not for us.

No/limited door experience. This might sound counter-intuitive, but between our Management and Senior DS teams, we can easily find experienced people. What we can't find as easily is people who are wanting to become DS, and haven't picked up any bad habits or attitudes. We can teach you how to be an absolutely fantastic DS, but it's 10x harder to teach you to have a personality.
